That probably wouldn't happen here. I just had a thought. What if marriage WAS defined in law as between a man and a woman, but there was another term, say, "association" or "Legal Pairing". This would have all the same legal benefits as marriage, and in time (a generation or two) the terms would become semantically equivalent. But it wouldn't BE marriage; this concept has been a property of god-people for a long time, and they seem to have a good thing going there. And not that anyone could know, but I have a vague idea that heterosexual love is a slightly different experience than homosexual love. I think the latter has more capacity for filial love, on average. Of course, I may be wrong. Amazing.
